Welded To Perfection

All of our Fatman Fabrications Weld-In Crossmember Kits are fully welded SAE 1018 steel and ground for a cleaner appearance. We use tubular crossmembers that are fully boxed at the ends. To ensure accuracy and correct geometry we used a PAD-designed system.

The Weld-In Crossmember Kits are fitted to your application while giving you more options such as Hub-to-Hub kits available in Stage 2-Coil Spring and Shock, Stage 3- Coilover, Stage 4-Air Ride, or Stage 5-Shockwave with customizable upgrades.

Note  We have recently updated our upper arm mounts on stage 2 and 4 suspension kits and our coilover/ shockwave mounts on stage 3 and 5 kits! Stage 2 and 4 kits now use a reinforced camber plate allowing for OE style shim alignment. No issues with the upper arms sliding, no issues with an eccentric spinning or worse seizing up and no worries with a bushing being misaligned and binding. Stage 3 and 5 kits now use a narrow pre-welded mount to ease installation and fitment of shockwaves.

Note

'74-'78 Mustang reproduction manual or new '79-'93 Mustang power racks can be used. The later power racks are less sensitive and easier to find. All widened kits use an extension for the rack main shaft. 

All Fatman Fabrications Mustang II style suspensions
will require tubular control arms.

Frame stubs and crossmember kits are not designed to fit an OE engine found in many of these applications. Front mount, front oil sump engines will typically not fit the new crossmember. We're modernizing the suspension, so it's always a good idea to modernize
the drivetrain as well. 

 

*Our '33-'34 and '35-'40 Ford kits are available narrowed 2” for better tire clearance and require a narrowed manual rack & pinion ($250.00 extra on hub-to-hub kits). The '35-'40 kit can also use a narrowed power rack ($550.00 extra). Coilover stage 3 required on '35-'40

  1. Find your application listed on our website. Helpful Hint: On most cars, it’s always helpful to measure the outside frame width and depth at the axle centerline.

  2. Pick which style kit you will be purchasing, whether it’s the basic crossmember, Stage 2, 3, 4, or 5 hub-to-hub kit.

  3. You will need to specify whether you are using a power or manual steering.

  4. Whether you want paintable mild steel or electroless nickel-plated tubular control arms.

  5. Whether you are using Ford or Chevy car pattern brakes.

  6. What engine is being used and mounted to the vehicle?
