Fatman was the first in 1993, offering a replacement subframe for the First Gen ’67-’69 Camaro and ’68-’74 Novas. After many years of pleasing customers with the original design, we are pleased to offer two major upgrades to that proven design. Now based on the GTech spindle originally developed for the OEM suspension in these cars, this 2” dropped yet 1 ½” taller spindle will offer the same optimized camber curve for superior handling. Also, by using a spindle designed for the OEM design, any original or aftermarket disc brakes you may buy or already have installed will fit with additional expense.
We have developed a “Sportalign” upper control arm mounting and alignment system which allows a repeatable change from a highway to track alignment specs. The highly stable highway setting can be set for maximum responsiveness on the track in minutes, with only two wrenches used under the hood, and then reliably returned for the trip home. This revolutionary design will provide great touring road manners with a very quick track performance.
As always, the factory engine and trans mounting platforms duplicate the stock positions so that any OEM aftermarket engine mountings for Small Block, Big Block or LS engines should fit easily. With the forward mounting of the rack and pinion, header clearance issues will be minimized.
