MUSTANGS GO TOTALLY TUBULAR!!This is a revolutionary concept for the Unibody Classic Mustangs! The original sheetmetal was designed for engines in the 300 HP range, but is completely incapable of handling the loads imposed by higher horsepower and modern sticky tires and suspensions. We engineered an integrated tubular structure that handles those forces without relying on that overworked (and probably deteriorated) sheetmetal. The PSM (Power/Suspension Module) bolts in for location, and is later welded, adding support to the cowl structure. Engines as wide as the 4 Cam Modular Fords easily clear the new clean inner fender panels. A 2”-3” drop, polished stainless steel lower control arms, and Wilwood brakes provide style in keeping with the exceptional performance of this system! Plan on using a 16 x 7 front wheel with a 5” backspace. Larger wheels may fit with the proper offset and tire selection, but will be limited by the Mustang’s original fenders. McPherson Strut suspension is a proven performer, as well as saving space compared to a double A arm type. That’s why Ford uses it on the new Mustang, and now you can have that modern technology on your Classic ’65-66 or ’67-’70 Mustang too! Priced at $5795, plus 8% UPS shipping. This is a very complete kit, including the tubular structure, sheet steel inner fenders and front panels, power rack and pinion, U-joints and shaft for steering connection (for aftermarket tilt column or owner modified stock column), sway bar, coilover conversion, struts, spindles, Wilwood 12” brakes (requires 16” or larger wheels), 5 piece shocktower and cowl brace system, and mounts for Windsor or Mod motors.
